For professional and everyday athletes alike the Olympic barbell is an absolutely essential tool. As people have become more fitness aligned in their lifestyle, confidence in using free weights continues to grow, so where a barbell at home may have been a foreign idea 10 years ago, it certainly isn't any longer. One of the main challenges we encounter with residential projects is the amount of space needed for barbell training. Traditional 20kg Olympic barbells are 2200mm in length, when you add space around the sides for loading the bar this can be a huge space within the home gym. That's why we've designed our 15kg Shorty Barbell. It has the same shaft length as a full size 20kg bar, which means it's compatible with standard squat racks. However, it has shortened sleeves to reduce the overall length down to 1830mm, much more managable for small spaces. It also retains the 28mm diameter shaft, meaning it feels just like a full sized bar in your hands. Important note: despite being 15kg this is not a traditional women's sized barbell due to the thickness and reduced sleeve length.
